Community choose their favourite hymns to mark 150 years of their church

A church in Llanddulas is asking local groups and members of the community to choose their favourite hymn and explain why, as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations. St Cynbryd’s was built with money donated by the owners of nearby Gwrych Castle, the 19th century hillside castle visible from the A55.

Service of blessing for Ruthin’s restored church bells

The Bishop of St Asaph has blessed the newly restored bells of Ruthin Church during a special service on Sunday 31 March, which was also Mothering Sunday. The eight bells, which have been cleaned and restored at the Taylors Foundry in Loughborough, were on the floor of the church and decorated with flowers for the “hallowing” service. A Vicar based near Ruthin is one of the 100 judges in the new series of BBC1’s All Together Now. The Revd Philip Chew, the Mission Area Leader of Dyffryn Clwyd Mission Area and the lead singer of Punk band, REVISIT will join comedian Rob Beckett and the Spice Girl Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) for the second series of the Saturday night hit TV programme All Together Now starting on Saturday (2 March). Phil, who has nearly forty years’ experience in the music industry, was selected as one of the 100 judges for the TV talent show.

Step back in time for Lent and Easter heritage events at St Asaph Cathedral
