Christmas through the ages at St Asaph Cathedral

Visitors to St Asaph Cathedral will be able to step back in time to find out how Christmas was celebrated at the time of Bishop William Morgan, who translated the Bible into Welsh. A special “Time Travellers” Christmas craft event is taking place on Wednesday 12 December from 3pm where visitors can make a Tudor Tussie Mussie and learn how natural green foliage from holly, ivy, yew, mistletoe, box and laurel were used to make Christmas decorations.

Churches to open as night shelters to support people sleeping rough in Wrexham

Churches and community groups in Wrexham are making plans to open a cold weather night shelter to support people who are sleeping rough in the town. The temporary night shelter which will open at different venues every night of the week, between January and March, will provide a hot meal, a warm bed, breakfast and safety for up to 10 people every night. It follows a successful pilot project in March.

The communities of Llangollen, Llantysilio and Trevor will welcome the Revd Lee Taylor as their new vicar on Sunday 9 December. The Bishop of St Asaph and the new Archdeacon of Montgomery, the Ven Dr Barry Wilson will lead the special service of licensing and welcome at St Collen’s Church, Llangollen at 11am. All are welcome.
