Clergy Log In Church in Wales Church near me

Welcome to the St Asaph Diocese Church Schools

across North East and Mid Wales

You will find that church schools are different and distinctive from other schools. Our schools are rooted in Christian values that affect the way everyone is treated. Within a church school, the headteacher is the lay spiritual leader of the school and is integral to sustaining and developing the Christian character of the school as set out in the school’s Trust deed.

We are a family of 48 primary schools and one secondary school. Our schools are a mix of sizes: some rural, some urban. There are 25 voluntary controlled and 24 voluntary aided schools, and every school is a valued member of our family of church schools. The Diocesan Board of Statutory Education (DBSE) and the Nurturing Steering Group oversees the strategic work of Education, Children’s and Youth Work team.

Our schools are led by headteachers who are committed, with the help of staff, to establish and maintain the Christian character of the school in its day to day activities and in the curriculum.

Church schools are inclusive by nature, welcoming children from families of all faiths and none, while recognising that faith is something that shapes people’s lives.

Church schools are committed to celebrating the rich heritage of faith, language and culture in Wales and provide a natural point of community focus, supported by a network of clergy and churches across Wales.
