2026 Diocesan Elections
Triennial period 2027–2028–2029
The Diocesan Constitution asks our Mission Areas to make nominations for elected positions on provincial and diocesan boards and committees. The Diocese of St Asaph is proud to have consistently filled all its elected positions, ensuring that the voice of the Teulu Asaph is heard loud and clear when decisions are being made that affect the life of our churches.
The elections that will be taking place this year are as follows:
- Diocesan Board of Finance
(one cleric and two lay candidates from each archdeaconry) - Standing Committee of the Governing Body
(one cleric and one lay candidate)
(elections will take place after Governing Body members have been elected) - Representative Body
(one cleric and one lay candidate) - The Governing Body of the Church in Wales
(four lay and two clerical candidates) - Property Board
(three clerical or lay candidates)

Please note that the deadline for Governing Body and Representative Body nominations has been extended to 17 July 2026
Information and Forms
Each candidate must complete the relevant Nomination and Candidate Acceptance form, available for download here. Further information on each of the elections, such as the purpose of each board and eligibility requirements, can also be found in the same link area.
Please note that the acceptance form may be used for any of the elections, provided that the appropriate election/body is clearly indicated at the top of the form.
