SPAB Checklist for Church Maintenance Week

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) keeps 17 – 23 November as Church Maintenance Week. It’s encouraging churches to take a few pre-emptive measures to keep the building safe over the winter.
The jobs for November are:
- Check that the flagpole is secure.
- Check the roofs for damage. Debris on the ground from broken or missing slates and tiles indicates that there may be a problem.
- Clear leaves and debris from gutters and rainwater pipes regularly and check for any storm damage.
