A lime wood statue of the founder of Llangollen has been blessed and dedicated.  St Collen, a seventh century saint gave his name to the town and is believed to be buried under the existing church.

People from the town’s churches gathered at St John’s Church for the blessing and processed to St Collen’s for a special service.

The statue is believed to be the only carved image of St Collen, as the Vicar of Llangollen, Fr Lee Taylor and the sculptor, Christian Lancaster explain in this film:
