Christian Aid Appeal

The Archbishop of Wales is calling for urgent support for Christian Aid’s crisis appeal for Ukraine.

The Christian charity is working with its partners to distribute food and other life-saving essentials to people on the Ukrainian borders fleeing deadly violence. It is also calling for people to add their voices to the change.org petition launched by Together With Refugees member, Freedom From Torture, which calls on the UK Government to provide humanitarian support to the people of Ukraine.

USPG and the Diocese in Europe

USPG and the Church of England Diocese in Europe have launched an appeal to support humanitarian work both in Ukraine and with refugees fleeing into neighbouring countries. Churches and agencies are already responding to the crisis.
This appeal will provide critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of people still in Ukraine and those who have left as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

In his Ad Clerum, Bishop Gregory encouraged people to pray and to do more in support of the people of Ukraine. He said: “We need to back up our prayer by supporting Ukrainians through the right organizations and charities, we must keep ourselves acquainted with the truth, and we must put pressure on our leaders to take the appropriate actions to bring as swift an end as possible to this horrible and outrageous invasion.
