The Bishop of St Asaph is to license a new priest for the Flintshire communities of Buckley, Drury and Ewloe.

The Revd Jenny Clarke will be a priest in the Rhos a Mynydd Mission Area and moves to Buckley from Anglesey.

Her licensing by the Rt Revd Gregory Cameron will take place at St Matthew’s Church in Buckley on Thursday 19 June at 7pm. Bishop Gregory said: “We are very pleased to have Jenny join us from the Diocese of Bangor. She has faithfully served the communities there for the last few years and I am sure she will be warmly welcomed by the congregations at St Matthew’s, Buckley, The Good Shepherd, Drury, and the Holy Spirit, Ewloe.”

Jenny Clarke moves to Buckley following three years on Anglesey as Ministry Area Leader of Bro Eleth serving the communities in the Amlwch area. Prior to ordination, Jenny worked in primary education in Bradford, and it was during that time that Jenny became a Christian through an Alpha course at her local church. Jenny began training for ordained ministry in 2016 with the Church of England at Ripon College, Cuddesdon, and she completed her training with a curacy in the West Yorkshire town of Halifax.

Jenny is moving to Buckley with her dog, Pippa. In her spare time Jenny enjoys getting away in her campervan with the dog, and when not out and about, she is a big fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Jenny is a Welsh learner and enjoys doing theology and discovering new expressions of spirituality.

Jenny’s licensing will take place on Thursday 19 June at 7pm at St Matthew’s Church in Buckley. All are welcome.
