New Leader for Bryn a Môr Mission Area

The communities of Llanasa, Trelawnyd, Gronant and Ffynnongroyw are to welcome a new priest.

The Revd David Lewis, who is from Prestatyn originally, will be welcomed as the new priest and the Mission Area Leader for Bryn a Môr at a special service on Sunday 19 January.  The service will be led by the Bishop of St Asaph Gregory Cameron and the Archdeacon of St Asaph, Andy Grimwood in the Church of Ss. Asaph & Cyndeyrn, Llanasa, at 3.30pm.

David Lewis moves from Rhos on Sea to take up this new post. Bishop Gregory said: “David will bring many pastoral gifts to his leadership of the church communities in the Bryn a Môr Mission Area and to the collaborative ministry being offered there by the team of lay people and clergy’.

David read History and American Studies at Keele University.  He was ordained in St Asaph Cathedral in 1990 and has served his whole ministry in north Wales. His particular interests in ministry include social engagement and work with the marginalised, as well as ministry in schools.

David said: “I am so happy to have been appointed to the Mission Area and to the churches of Llanasa, Gronant, Trelawnyd, and  Ffynnongroyw.  My family has had strong links to the area and it is a privilege to return to my home area in these roles. My wife, Sue, and I very much look forward to getting to know people and sharing in the opportunities to minister together.’
