Church congregations across northeast and mid-Wales will be raising funds for the work of RABI, The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, which provides crucial support to the farming community.

Churches will be organising Lent Lunches, running Coffee Mornings, undertaking sponsored activities or collecting donations to raise funds for the annual diocesan offering. In addition, they will be praying for the work of the charity.

RABI is the oldest and largest farming charity in the UK. It offers financial assistance, practical care and guidance to those in need, helping farmers and their families, through difficult times. Their work relies heavily on donations and support is available to anyone linked to the farming community.

Dewi Parry from RABI said: “At the core of RABI’s mission is the commitment to address the individual needs of farming people. We offer one-to-one, expert support, advice and guidance, tailored to every unique circumstance. Whether it’s giving expert advice on benefits potentially available to farming people or accessing mental health support, RABI offers a beacon of hope across the farming community.”

Every year, congregations in the churches which make up the Diocese of St Asaph raise money to support a local charity. It is selected by members of the Diocesan Conference and the appeal was launched during the conference in October 2024.
