What Then Shall we Say?

A Manifesto for the Future

In Spring 2022, Bishop Gregory launched his manifesto, which he announced in the Spring Edition of Teulu Asaph.  Here is what he wrote:

Brothers and sisters, don’t be childish in your thinking:  be infants when it comes to evil things, but adult in your thinking about faith.  (1 Corinthians 14.20)

As we move into 2022, we can resolve to deepen our faith.  Christianity should be an adventure: to know God better, and to grow into fullness of life.  Sometimes, it is easier to put our faith on autopilot, but the Bible urges us to grow in faith, to be “adult in our thinking about faith.”

As the diocese moves into the future, we have to ask the question “What are we here for?”, and the answer we’ve adopted in the diocese is that we are here, growing Faith, bringing Hope and demonstrating Love.  They are impressive words, fundamental to being a Christian, but what do they actually mean for diocesan life?

We are about to launch a “manifesto” for the diocese, a prospectus for our future life together.  It’s a short booklet, quick and easy to read, and it is intended to set the compass of our life together using our diocesan focus.  We hope to put a copy of this booklet into the hands of every member of the Teulu Asaph.  It tells you what is happening in the diocese, and it invites you to join in.

At the end of each section, you’ll read an expression of a hope – ways in which the contributors would like to see the diocese growing.  My hope is that every member of the Teulu Asaph can be excited about their faith in this coming year, and excited by what we can achieve together as a diocese.  I invite you to join with me in building our future.

Copies are available from your local church.
