Licensed Lay Ministers are initially discerned locally. Those in ministry, holding the Bishop’s licence, usually train for two years or more and take a lead role within the ministry of the Mission Area. Often, they will have a specialism that they offer across the MA. In the Church in Wales we recognise the following lay licensed ministries:

  • Reader
  • Pastoral Chaplain
  • Evangelist/Pioneer

Luke Bristowe / lukebristowe@cinw.org.uk

Commissioned ministers are locally discerned. They work under the direction of the Mission Area Leader and the Shared Ministry Team.
