Enabling Outreach and Ministry: Church Emergency Support Fund
The DBF has approved the creation of a new Church Emergency Support Fund to offer additional help to those churches that are experiencing acute financial difficulties as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the consequent lockdowns. The Church Emergency Support Fund totals £140,000 and is provided using funds from the Representative Body of the Church in Wales. These funds are to be targeted where there is genuine need and where additional emergency financial support is needed to ensure the survival and eventual flourishing of a church community.

It is important to remember that our gifts to our churches are as valuable now as ever. Although we may not all be able to gather in worship for some time, our mission remains constant.
As we see in the stories of the early church, generosity often ‘wells up’ in the face of severe trial. Giving can be a hard decision when our finances are turbulent, but when we commit to giving even a little, the Bible promises that we will be ‘enriched’. We can move out of worry to glimpse the abounding fullness of God’s love. Being generous can help to deepen our faith, heal our hearts and bring us into closer relationship with Jesus.
