Texts of the reading sheets are available to download in Word for each Sunday and for major festivals.  They are in 12-point type or smaller on one side of A4 landscape in four columns, and as a large-print version in 17-point type or smaller on two sides of A4 portrait in two columns.  Font size will vary according to the length of the text.

There are five formats:

• English with responsorial psalm
• English with the psalm in whole verses
• English with pointed psalm
• English with the psalm to be read by alternate half-verses before the Gospel
• Welsh with the psalm in whole verses.

The normal size sheets can be printed on:

• one side of A4 with notices, hymns etc on the other
• both sides of A4 then cut in half to give a sheet of A5 to include readings only
• English one side and Welsh the other to give a bilingual version.

Occasionally, when the text is very long, a version is provided to print out on three or four A4 faces of a folded A3 sheet, in which case it is suggested that people of normal sight should be given a copy of the ‘large’ version printed on both sides of a sheet of A4.

Responsorial psalms for the ‘continuous’ Old Testament option are not always available for the Sundays after Trinity.

The biddings and responses before and after the Gospel are taken from An Order For The Holy Eucharist of the Church in Wales 2004.

In order to promote good reading, readings are divided such that there is a new paragraph whenever there is:

+   a change of subject

+   an interval of time

+   a change of speaker

+   a change of person being addressed

The text of these sheets may be edited in Word to accommodate changes required by the user, for instance, the day of the week and year may be added to the title of sheets for the Presentation if this feast is celebrated on a Sunday.

Following a survey of reactions from a group of congregations to various type faces or fonts, opinion was equally divided between Times New Roman and Calibri for 11-point and larger, although the majority had a preference for Times New Roman below that size. Texts are provided in both these fonts where appropriate by this rule, including for the large print versions.

The Concise Almanac

lists dates, titles, colours and readings for the principal service provision for each Sunday of the forthcoming liturgical year. There are two versions, for the ‘continuous’ and for the ‘related’ Old Testament options during the Sundays after Trinity, each of which may be printed out on a double-sided sheet of A4.
