Advent Message of Faith, Hope and Love

The Bishop of St Asaph has issued an Advent Message launching a new focus for the diocese, based on a famous verse from the New Testament.

In his 2021 Advent Message, the Rt Revd Gregory Cameron, explains why the diocese is moving on from Unlocking Our Potential to the words from 1 Corinthians 13:13 – “Three things will last forever – faith, hope and love.”

The Advent Message is available in five formats – a film in English, audio versions in Welsh and English and written letters in Welsh and English.

In his message, Bishop Gregory says: “Unlocking out Potential has served us well but now, after Covid, as we go into 2022, what is church life going to be like? When we reflected on this in Standing Committee, we did some work and asked the questions: “What are our churches really here for? As we move into the future, what is at the centre of our life?….We are called, you and I, to be people who grow faith, who bring hope and who demonstrate love. These are the three core values which we have to represent and live into, to be a people who are growing faith, bringing hope and demonstrating love.”
