A new priest for Gresford and Holt will be licensed by the Bishop of St Asaph on Wednesday (27 November).

The Revd Vicki Burrows will also be licensed as Mission Area Leader for the Alyn Mission Area. The service of licensing and welcome will take place at All Saints’ Church, in Gresford, at 7pm.

Ordained in 2004, Vicki Burrows has served in the dioceses of Guildford, Salisbury, and in the Diocese of Llandaff where she was the Garth Ministry Area Leader and Priest-in-Charge in Radyr and St Fagans. Most recently she has been serving as a Day Chaplain at Hereford Cathedral.

Commenting on her move, Vicki said: “I am delighted to be moving to Alyn Mission Area and look forward to immersing myself in the life of the churches and the communities they serve. The Church exists for others not for itself, so I look forward to journeying with people of all ages, of all faiths and none.”

Prior to ordination Vicki worked in horse-racing and as a Company Director. Vicki met her husband Billy on a ski holiday over 40 years ago and were married in their 20s. They have five grown-up sons and have also fostered children. In her spare time, Vicki enjoys showing dogs and riding.

Bishop Gregory said: “We are delighted to welcome Vicki who has had a distinguished ministry in England and Wales. Vicki will bring a passion for social justice and an enthusiastic proclamation of the Christian Faith to Gresford, Holt, and the wider Alyn Mission Area.”

The service to welcome Vicki is on Wednesday 27 November at 7pm at All Saints Church, Gresford. All are welcome.
