St Asaph has three Gold awarded eco churches. St Peter’s in Llanbedr was the first in September 2023 and St Sadwrn in Henllan followed in March 2024. In June 2025, St Tyssil’s Church in Llandyssil became St Asaph’s third Gold church (and only the sixth in Wales!) An eco church award is given by the Christian conservation charity A Rocha UK, and reflects a church’s commitment to walk in step with nature and put creation care at the heart of what they do – in their worship and teaching, use of buildings and land, community and global engagement and by making lifestyle changes.
Congratulations to St Peter’s, St Sadwrn, St Tyssil’s and to the many others who have achieved silver (23 churches) and bronze (49 churches) status. (updated Jan 2026)
