International Diocesan Discipleship/Confirmation Project
with the Diocese of Helsinki, Finland
Would you like to be part of our International Diocesan Discipleship/Confirmation Project?
The Diocese of St Asaph has a link with the Diocese of Helsinki in Finland and as part of that link we are developing a discipleship / confirmation project to support young people in their faith journey and allow them an international perspective in sharing this journey with young people from Finland.
We are now in our third year of a wonderful link with our friends in the Diocese of Helsinki. 2020 has been a bit different as we have had to pause the overseas visits due to Covid 19. However! In Sprin 2021, we launched this project again using digital platforms and virtual meet ups with young people in Finland!
Project Information.
- Young people need to be in Year 10 or 11 for this project and able to commit to the majority of sessions held within the Diocese and to be able if possible to join an overseas visit to Finland.
- Each young person, if they are not already confirmed, will be given the chance to use this project as part of their confirmation training, supporting preparation in their own Mission Area or if their Mission Area is not running confirmation preparation this can act as a stand- alone course. If being confirmed each young person will be confirmed in St Asaph Cathedral by Bishop Gregory.
- If you or the person you know is already confirmed this will not stop them from being part of this group. In this case the individual can use this as a discipleship project. I think both approaches will be transformational for a young person participating.
