Welcome to the website of Hope Street, Wrexham, where plans are unfolding to develop a new kind of Christian space in the town centre.

The Diocese of St Asaph has bought and is refurbishing the former Burton’s store on Hope Street in Wrexham.

Once complete, it will offer a spiritual home to young people, families and people from all sorts of backgrounds.  Set across all three floors, the building will include worship space, meeting and counselling rooms, a kitchen, a hospitality area and a base for social and community projects.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, renovation work on the building has been slightly delayed, although, the contractor, Simmonds Group have now resumed on site.  Work has recently been completed on the external walls of the upper floors and the internal fit out works are due to commence shortly.  It is currently envisaged that the work will be completed at the end of the year, in time for a January 2021 opening.

Ground floor: includes a kitchen and a flexible cafe-style area for community events plus a contemporary prayer space which we hope will be a quiet oasis for people.

First floor: will offer flexible children’s/seminar rooms, staff offices and shower/toilet facilities.

Second floor: will be converted in a worship and event space with seating for approximately 180 people.
