New Priest for Communities around Mold

A new priest will be licensed to the Mold Mission Area on Thursday.

Revd Jeanette Wilkes is moving from Kerry near Newtown to take up the post. She will have particular pastoral responsibility for the communities of Pontblyddyn, Treuddyn, and New Brighton.

Her service of welcome and licensing will take place on Thursday 20 July at Christ Church, Ponblyddyn, at 1900hr conducted by Bishop Gregory Cameron and Archdeacon Hayley Matthews.

Jeanette Wilkes comes to the area having served in the south of the diocese in Welshpool, and most recently, in communities around Newtown.  “It is good to welcome Jeanette to the north of the diocese”, said Bishop Gregory Cameron. “Jeanette is a very pastorally minded priest and will be a good complement to the existing members of the Shared Ministry Team in Mold Mission Area.”

Jeanette was widowed twenty years ago, and has a daughter called Sarah. Jeanette enjoys cross stitch and other crafts, and loves taking her dog, Jasper, for walks.  She said: “I am really looking forward to ministering with my new churches  and reaching out to their communities with the love of God, helping them take the next steps in their own faith journeys.”
