The Mission Area Share Discount Scheme is to double in value in 2023.

The Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance has written to every Mission Area explaining how additional Structural Resilience funding from the Representative Body of the Church in Wales will be added to the Share Discount Pot. It means each Mission Area that pays its 2023 Share in full by 31 December 2023 will receive a pay-out from the Discount Scheme that is approximately 8% (previously it has been 4%) of its annual 2023 Share.

The extension of the Discount Scheme follows confirmation that all 19 Missions Areas paid their Mission Area Share for 2022 in full and in advance of the payment deadline. Each Mission Area will receive 12% of the Share payment it made for 2022.  The enhanced rebate is a result of additional funding provided by the Representative Body of the Church in Wales.

In her letter to each Mission Area, the DBF Chair, Sam Allin wrote: “Your support and faith continues to be both inspiring and essential at these challenging times and I am very grateful to be able to celebrate this achievement with you all.” She ends the letter writing: “I hope that this will be welcome news for you all as we start this special year in the life of the diocese – Asaph 1450 – and continue our mission to Grow Faith, Bring Hope and Demonstrate Love.”
