Weddings

Marriage is a gift from God.  The Bible teaches that marriage is a life-long, faithful union and compares married love with the love Jesus has for his people.

Christians believe that in marriage we find the proper expression of our sexuality, a secure environment for bringing up our children, and an important element of stability for the wider community.

You have a right to be married in your local church.

Same Sex Blessings

Services of blessing for same-sex couples are now offered in churches across the diocese. In September 2021, the Church in Wales voted to change church law to  permit blessings.

The first blessing was offered by Bishop Gregory in Llangollen in November 2021 when he blessed the relationship of Father Lee Taylor and his partner Fabiano.

In December 2021, Bishop Gregory took the first blessing ceremony in St Asaph Cathedral, when he blessed the relationship of Revd Dr Margaret Harvey and Revd Heather Fenton.
