Discernment for Ministry

If you think God may be calling you to some form of public ministry please talk to your local priest who will be able to support you and give you further guidance. If they think you are ready for the next step, they will then contact the ministry team at the diocesan office who will be able to put you in touch with a vocations adviser.

Two new youth and children’s chaplains join bumper ordination service for the Diocese of St Asaph

18 June 2019

Two stipendiary youth and children’s chaplains will be licensed by the Bishop of St Asaph during this year’s ordination service on 29 June. Esther and Jon Andrews have been trained alongside the ordination candidates at the Church in Wales’ college, St Padarn’s Institute in Cardiff. Six deacons and six priests will be ordained by the Rt Revd Gregory Cameron at St Asaph Cathedral.

Denbighshire Punk Vicar is one of TV’s The 100

A Vicar based near Ruthin is one of the 100 judges in the new series of BBC1’s All Together Now. The Revd Philip Chew, the Mission Area Leader of Dyffryn Clwyd Mission Area and the lead singer of Punk band, REVISIT will join comedian Rob Beckett and the Spice Girl Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) for the second series of the Saturday night hit TV programme All Together Now starting on Saturday (2 March). Phil, who has nearly forty years’ experience in the music industry, was selected as one of the 100 judges for the TV talent show.

We are also actively seeking to encourage those with vocations to lay ministries to consider their call, particularly Reader ministry.
